Douglas Andrews Wheelwright

On leaving school in 1989 aged 16, I was apprenticed to David Bysouth (Wheelwright) at Three Cups. I took on David’s business on his retirement in 1997, renting his premises until 2008. I am now trading from my own premises in Nettlesworth Lane, Vines Cross, within sight of Warbleton Church. I employ Daniel Lambert-Gorwyn as a full-time wheelwright alongside myself. We manufacture and repair all types of wooden wheels, horse drawn vehicles and implements. We also manufacture replacement parts for Ash motor car bodies and we undertake water and windmill repairs – supplying parts such as cogs, to Mill Wrights. We supply bespoke iron work, gates, railings, drain covers and brackets. We make bespoke furniture and can do letter-cutting on wooden signs. We, also, can paint finished work.
